Matcha Grades Explained
From the best ceremonial grades matcha to performance driven products designed for factories and consumer brands. At Matchia, we try our best to fulfill our customers every demand on matcha.
Conventional Ceremonial Matcha
Best for pure matcha drinks and premium café menus.
Harvested only from the finest leaves during spring, our ceremonial grade matcha blends feature exceptional color and deep umami flavor and are loved by both e-commerce brands and high-end cafes.
In general, customers prefer our ceremonial blends if matcha is a main SKU item, or layering for drinks is important, or there is straight non-latte (i.e. matcha tonic) drinks on the menu.
USDA Organic Ceremonial Matcha
Best for organic brands and clean-label products.
Certified under the USDA National Organic Program, our organic ceremonial matcha is grown without synthetic pesticides, herbicides, or fertilizers. Designed to support your brand's quality promise and your customers' clean-label expectations.
Conventional Latte Grade Matcha
Optimized for milk-based beverages.
Our latte grade matcha blends consistently with milk, making it a cost-effective choice for coffee shops, boba tea stores, and matcha bars. Stable color and flavor across high-volume daily use.
Culinary Grade Matcha
For baking, desserts, and food manufacturing.
Our culinary matcha is formulated for ingredient performance with consistent color, solubility, and flavor in recipes. A cost-efficient option for bakeries, RTD beverage brands, and large-scale manufacturing where matcha is blended with other ingredients.
Hojicha Powder
Best for lattes, desserts, and café menus looking for a low-caffeine alternative.
Made from roasted green tea leaves, our hojicha powder offers a smooth, nutty flavor with natural notes of cocoa and caramel. The roasting process reduces bitterness and astringency, resulting in a mellow and approachable profile that appeals to a wide range of customers.
Compared to matcha, hojicha is lower in caffeine and less grassy, making it ideal for all-day consumption and pairing well with milk-based drinks and sweet applications.
